Frequently Asked Questions About the Site

You've Got Questions, We've Got Answers!

First off, before I plunge into the information...I have a request for information from YOU, the visitor. If you know (for sure, not just a guess) the names of any of the voice-actors I'm missing (look at the "About the Show" page) then please e-mail me. I will, of course, give you credit for the help.

Question: What is this show about, anyway?
Answer: Did you read the About the Show page?

Question: Okay, so the cartoon is based off a series of games called "Princess Maker", you say. I've never played any of those--what are they like? Would I like them?
Answer: Well, I can't speak for _your_ personal taste, but _I_ like them, yes. Basically, in each Princess Maker game, you are given a daughter of around 10 years old and told to raise her until she turns 18. You can have her work at different part-time jobs, take different classes at school, and (sometimes) go adventuring for fame and fortune. How you choose the things she does, and also how you interact with various NPC's that might stop by from time to time, affects the outcome of the game greatly-- Princess Maker 2 has SEVENTY-FOUR (!) endings, and PM3 has 60, for example. She can turn out to be anything from a common street hooker or a wimp who just stays home and does housework for the rest of her life...to a Ruling Queen! It's all up to you. :)
Let's put it this way: Do you like sim/strategy games? Do you like Neopets? Do you like the Sims, or SimCity? Do you like to cheer on your one tiny stone-age village from "Civilisation" as it eventually grows into a huge globe-spanning, high-tech empire (or curse as it's instantly wiped out by barbarians)?
If the answer to any of these is "yes", then you just might like the Princess Maker games. If no, then you might want to skip them. (shrug)

Question: Where do you get all your stuff?
Answer: Get, no. MAKE, yes. I hand-snapped all these screenshots myself, and all the words here are out of my own brain, my own opinions. (Well, except for the many many quotes, paraphrased quotes, in-jokes, and references from my favourite things. If you get/understand EVERY reference I ever make, you deserve a Choco-Choco! Here.) No cut-and-pasting was used to make this site.

Question: AAAAACCCCKKK!! THE POP-UPS!! (sobbing) Make them stop, make them STOP!!
Answer: Sigh. I feel your pain. Wish I _could_ make them stop, but I just can't afford a paid site. Sorry. By the way--if it ever asks you if you want to download something--say NO. There are _spyware_/adware things GALORE built into Freeservers/50megs.com free sites...

Question: Can I use some of your screenshots?
Answer: If you ask nicely first, and give me credit on whichever site you end up using the screenshots on. Actually _linking_ back to my site would be favourite. Same goes for if you want to use any of my character profiles, reviews, etc--get permission, give credit.

Question: I've decided I want to submit something to the site (artwork, fanfic, a review, etc.) How do I do that?
Answer: Well, first you should be aware of the rules:
--Everything submitted should be rated PG-13 or under. That means no nudity, no vulgar swearing, and certainly no graphic sexual acts. I mean this is based off of a KIDS' SHOW, for cryin' out loud!
--Any pictures should be submitted in JPG OR GIF FORM. Pictures should never be sent in bitmap form, because that clogs Regina's mailbox. Bitmaps are TOO LARGE to send. I cannot stress that enough. (I've had other sites where I told people to send things in .jpg or .gif form until the cows came home, and they STILL sent me 1.5 meg-large bitmap files that completely kept any _other_ messages from coming in...)
--Last but not least, don't send screenshots. I can make those myself. :P

Question: Will you make me a custom screenshot?
Answer: Well, if you tell me _specifically_ what you want (character and episode are necessary, which scene would also be nice), but if it's from an episode I haven't _done_ a gallery for yet...just wait, and maybe I'll end up taking the picture you wanted (or something very similar) on my own, _without_ being asked. If it's from an episode I already _have_ done a gallery of, then go ahead and ask. And if it turns out that I _like_ the picture I make for you, I'll add it to the episode's gallery! If not, then at least you'll have _your_ copy (which will be e-mailed to you.)

Question: Does this site contain spoilers?
Answer: Yes it does--but they're easy to avoid if you know how. Basically: just don't look at the galleries of any episodes past the last one you personally saw, and don't read the episode reviews/summaries of any episode past the last one you saw. Simple. Doy. :P

Question: Why do you take the pictures that you do, and ignore the others?
Answer: This site is done to _my_ taste, not anybody elses...but to explain my taste, a bit...well, I like funny pictures...pretty pictures...pictures that look artsy...pictures of my favourite characters being themselves as hard as they can...pictures of characters acting _unusual_ for themselves...significant relationship moments...and big plot moments. Those are basically my criteria.

Question: Why so many pictures of people like Cube and Grenda, and not so many of others, such as Kokoru?
Answer: You caught me--a very good way to figure out who my favourite characters on a series are is to watch who I take the most pictures of. If the character only shows up for a _cameo_ appearance in an episode and yet I still make SURE to take a picture of them anyway, then it's a good bet I really like the character. :P
Actually I have _three_ favourites, for this show:
--Yuushi, who reminds me of the real me a bit too much for comfort, in many ways.
--Cube, who is an adorable little precious pookie but also has spunk and can make me laugh.
--And Grenda, who is the bad girl I've always (kind of) wanted to be--full of herself and nowhere near as great as she SAYS she is, yes, but also powerful, funny, and stylish. Yeah, baby. (flips down a pair of "cool" shades.)
So, basically, to sum up--Yuushi is who I _am_, Grenda is who I want to _be_, and Cube is who I want to _glomp_. ;)
After the three-way tie, my _second_ favourite is actually Erumina, believe it or not. Erumina has reasons that I can feel sorry for her, cool skills, and is not as goody-two-shoes boring as I would have assumed the Princess of Heaven would be...she's a pleasant surprise.

Question: What's up with all the Harry Potter references?!
Answer: Aha, well...you see, I _am_ a fan of the books, although I'm not as fanatical as I may seem from the frequent references I make on this site. Why so frequent? Well, something about the magical side of this show (especially the formal, organised part of it, such as school classes) just kicks my brain into a "Hogwarts" gear. I think it started with that wizard chick in the very first episode turning on all the lamps with her WAND instead of with matches, and went from there. Things such as the magic classes in school, those over-cloaks the girls wear as part of their uniforms when outdoors, Grenda stirring up potions of icky ingredients and balancing on her broomstick at high speed, etc. just can't HELP but remind me of those books, a bit. Sorry. :P
I reference lots of other things, too, actually, such as Discworld, Star Trek, and my favourite song-lyrics, to name just a few other categories.

When I think of other things that people might wonder about, I'll put them here.
